Somehow it keeps switching it back to selectively for me so idk if that will solve your problem.

I used to have all the roofs on buildings gone.
This is for options that can t be changed in the normal interface.
The authenticator helps to protect your game account and in turn your in game items and wealth.
There should be a remove roofs option and toggle that to always.
Then go to graphics settings and click on custom.
The update is now live.

Some options can be typed at the command line chat bar to change the game display.

The chat interface is a panel in the gui in which various messages throughout runescape are displayed.
Mod nexus has clarified on the forums that the update did not go live yet but will be released sometime this afternoon.
Typing toggleroof into the chat box will now toggle between two options for removing roofs from buildings.
Toggleroof turns roofs on or off.
